"Trust! You're going to lecture me for not trusting you after you went on a whole tirade about how you didn't trust me? Do you really believe that after yelling at me, insulting me, and saying that you didn't trust me I was going to just naturally trust you?" Yevrin yelled, finally venting her feelings with volume. She had discovered one of his secrets and he had seen fit to lecture her and get mad at her because she had figured it out on her own, rather than wait for him to tell her himself, to trust her. He had thrown it in her face that he did not trust her, and now he seemed to honestly have expected her to trust him enough to place her own fate at jeopardy at just his word. She persisted. "Did you really expect me to do whatever you say when I'm facing a gang of armed opponents? And after telling me that they ruthlessly hunt people down, which would include me since I'd already wouded a few of them, and that they were likely to kill your family as they walked home at night, did you really expect me to just 'drop it'? You don't start telling me, when I''m already preparing to fight some thugs, that their capable of performing horrendous acts on weaklings -which I absolutely can't stand- and expect me to turn my back to them. When you make it sound that if I don't kill them all now I'll have to worry about them hunting me later, don't expect me to just 'drop it' at one word from an idiot that doesn't trust me either."

"I believe you just proved my point," Sean said in response, "You never gave me the chance to trust you...I don't care if you don't trust me or not. But I have no reason to trust you with the kind of information that I had. You can distrust me all you want...but you never gave me a reason to trust you."
He cleared his throat, "I wasn't going to tell you another secret of mine...I was hoping you would just take my word for it...that those men were not worth an effort. However, since you never aimed for trust...from both yourself and from me...I suppose it was logical that you wouldn't listen to me. That much is clear."
He shrugged his shoulders, rather 'amused' that she was so angry at him. Now could she understand how angry he was before? He still was. But it felt good to anger her a little...after she had betrayed the most vital point he held dear. "You're safe now, so there's no need to stick around with me," he said with a wave of his hand.

Yevrin had no idea what he was talking about when he said she had proved his point. In her mind, she still saw herself as committing no wrong, and he was the idiot that had first overreacted and then mishandled a potentially deadly situation. There was a complete difference in trusting someone with a secret and trusting someone in battle. Just because she had figured out his secret did not mean she had done something wrong; it meant he was really bad at keeping secrets. As well, she had not managed to keep herself alive to date by following the advice of random men she met an hour earlier in a bar, while in a combat situation. The knock to the head must have caused his brain to lose some of what precious little thought process he actually possessed if he had actually thought she would listen to him. She was still angry with him about a lot of things, and the fact that he kept bringing up this whole trust matter was starting to give her another reason. Even if someone did trust another person, that did not mean that they were safeguarded against that trust being broken. It really was rather stupid how much value he placed on it at the meeting of a total stranger. Later on, maybe it would have been close to being acceptable, but not right after she had met him. No one could expect to trust anyone that quickly unless they were completely naive. Despite all her feelings on this though, it was his last statement that irked her the most. "I'm 'safe'? Who was the git that just got himself mugged? I was never in any danger that I wouldn't have been able to handle myself. You're the one that walked literally head-first into a street gang."

Sean shrugged his shoulders, "Believe it or not, it's not the first time that's happened and it won't be the last." He believed himself to be extremely lucky, especially in his line of business. It was quite often that he was subjected to serious injuries and his hand was reminding him now that those injuries had to be attended to. He was lucky that, till this day, he was still alive and in such a loving relationship.
"But I believe our meeting is over," he said with a smile, "I have to go see a medicinal professional." He knew most of those in the city and many would probably serve him for at least a hefty discount. "Have a good night."

Yevrin turned around and began walking away from him. She did not know why she had wasted so much time with him. He was annoying, if not infuriating at some times. Chaos take him for all she cared. After a moment though, she had to admit to herself that when Sean had not been annoying, he had been quite interesting, and a good source of amusement. Perhaps he was not a completely useless idiot. She paused, then over her shoulder called back, "G'night. I hope you don't get killed when you walk around the next corner." Then she turned into an alleyway and disappeared into the night.

Sean snorted, like he would actually allow that to happen a second time. The first time he had been blinded with anger that he hadn't watched where he was going, this time, while in pain, he knew what he had to do. And he blamed this mostly on the infuriating young woman whom he had left behind.
This would be something fun to explain to Jamison...
