Looking out at the great expanse of water ahead of him, Zentesh raised up his arm to the sky to let the salty air fill his nostrils. He breathed out a sigh. Almost like home, he thought to himself. Nothing for miles on this Bay.
He thought of the lands he traveled and he had never found one so peaceful as this. Almost devoid of people. Other places were bustling with people, hiking the woods. He had found a paradise. No wars, no violence.... and no work.
He sighed again. This place had almost been a picnic. Speaking of picnics, he thought, Time to go get some fish! He dropped his pack and started towards the bay.

Yurika had been stalking the beach, a cigarette between her fingers...mostly burnt away by this time. She hadn't taken a drag for the past few minutes and it was beginning to burn away at her fingers. Bothersome. She flipped her hand around, crushing it in her fist and feeling the sting of heat against her skin. It didn't matter anyway, the flesh wound would heal soon enough and leave not a trace if she desired it.
She then spotted an odd creature...demonic looking and she came to the conclusion as she neared that it was thus. It gave off of the presence of a demon and it looked like a demon. It probably was a demon. She stopped walking, dropping the ashes from her hand to the ground. She watched it closely as it neared the water...what was it doing?

Zentesh jumped straight into the water, slipping straight through like an arrow towards it's target. He smelt blood. Blood and the fibers of electricity flowing through the wildlife around him. Too small, he thought to himself as he continued to swim.
There it is! He thought as he came upon a large enough fish, good fishy. He smiled as he quickly snatched it between his jaw before coming up for air. He wadded toward the beach before he realized he had an audience. He looked toward the.... well he wasn't sure. His eyes said human. His clerical training said otherwise. Celestial? He continued to stare as he walked up to the beach, shaking the water off his foot.

Yurika caught the eyes with the strange 'demonic' creature that emerged from the sea. She could see the fish...it was probably a very good swimmer. But she couldn't idly sit by and watch him now...he had seen her. Might as well be polite.
"Yo," she said, waving her hand with a snap and beginning to walk towards the creature. Her free hand rested lightly on her side...close to her pistol which was located in a hip holster beneath her black, knee length jacket. "I didn't mean to watch...but you don't look like a regular patron..."

Zentesh let the fish plop out of his mouth and into his hand.
"Your manner of speech is peculiar, stranger." He mentioned as his webbed feet finally made it to the shore. He looked back over at the water, the sun beating down on his face. "I'm not sure what you mean by patron, but I deduce that you are reffering to my species."
He turned back, "And I would hazard to guess, we're in the same boat." He tossed the fish over to his equipment.

"Patron...you know...a normal person walking the street, shopping and going about their business..." Yurika raised an eyebrow. She hadn't been on this plane very long and she was already screwing up the language. But...it sounded right. "Sorry," she apologized, waving a hand in front of her face.
"You're not a normal looking human, is what I meant," she pointed out calmly. "In fact...I don't believe you're human at all and that makes you the minority here...doesn't it?"

"Oh really. Was it my stunning good looks or my brooding manner that gave it away?" Zentesh smiled as he walked over to his equipment.
"And why is it everything comes back to humans? You are correct in thinking I'm not human at all." He began to open his pack, "I am, as they say, a demon. Crocodile as it happens to be, named for the teeth growing on the outside of my mouth. And what might you be? My eyes sees an attractive human being. And since my species doesn't have a notion of human beauty, I believe my clerical training is checking in." He watched her closely.

Yurika shook her head, passing off the beauty comment. She was accustomed to them in a sense...though in the realm of the dead they could be a whole lot more descriptive...and rude. That would usually result in the demon/spirit getting their head blown off with one of her custom made bullets. It was a satisfying feeling.
"I'm a spirit," she informed him curtly, making sure they were on the same level. "It was your appearance that gave me the first indication of your species but as a spirit I can sense auras and yours was not of the human nature."

"Ahh," Zentesh smiled, leaning back and looking her up and down. Aura sense. Good grief. He continued to watch her. Her modern clothing, her manner of speaking. The piece of technology around her wrist. More ahead of the times then he was. Then again, he did not come from around here. She probably even had a weapon on her. Most people around here did.
Fighting and violence, he thought. Give me compassion anyday.
"Care for something to eat," He asked, as he began to unpack his his pot.

"I don't really need to eat..." Yurika answered with a light smile and a shake of her head. "I'm dead...my body doesn't need food to survive." Though she did it if she was truly in the mood...mostly when her and Cameo were spending some quality time together. The powerful, puppy-eyed, cutie of a spirit was in love with doughtnuts.
"But I can eat if the foods decent enough..." she looked at him, lifting an eyebrow. "I don't eat anything raw and I'm used to high cuisine..." She had come from a rich family originally so normal food could be below her tastes at times.

Zentesh bowed, "Your choice." He mentioned as he popped the lid of his pot off and popped the fish in. He pressed a couple of buttons for it to cook and put it beside him. "All I got are trail rations, self cooking eggs and bacon and a selfcooking pot. I usually hunt whatever I want. Deer, fish. I am not used to fancy cuisine. I eat whatever mother earth provides."
He reached into his pack and pulled out a canister. He twisted it in his hand, making the canister puff and hiss. He popped the lid and drank the contents. "Coffee? Twist and pull and it cooks itself."

Yurika watched the objects with distanced facination. This world was very different from the Earth she used to call home, before her death that is. She shook her head politely as she watched him begin to cook his food, hiding her interest behind a skeptical stare. She didn't understand the equipment and found it just as confusing as it was facinating.
"This place is truly different from Earth...and the Underworld..." she commented, using a more well known word of her present home. There was food down there but the restaraunts always suited the dead's need. The dead of the middle ages recieved middle age food, the people of her time and her world recieved food that suited them. She had never broken from her tradition and she didn't need to know.

"Earth?" Zentesh mused. He had heard of the mystic land of Earth. Was it the humans homeland, or just a myth. He never took much stock in human mythology, it was hard enough to stick to his own.
He twisted theh container of coffee, causing the small filements of chemicals to burst inside, heating up the liquid before Zentesh opened the lid and took a sip.
"Coast Lamiere is just a land between lands. Trading routes mostly. People from all over end up here, few stay. Not much but a rock with trees and sandy beaches. And of course the demons who live in the sea." He took another sip of his coffee then looked at her again. "Staying long?"

"As long as it takes," Yurika commented briskly as she dropped to the ground, folding her legs beneath her into the commonly known locust position. She placed her elbow on her right knee, resting her chin in her hand.
"I'm looking for someone...a dangerous someone actually," she explained. "He's a creature to be feared...made of shadows and virtually invincible." She shrugged her shoulders, "If you see him I would like to know...looks like a giant cat but...he doesn't have much of a waist..." She poked her sides, "Ribs jutting out of his skin, close to in fact..."

Zentesh took another sip of coffee. Another invincible enemy. Seems like Coast Lamiere was full of those too.
"Nope, I haven't." Zentesh finished off his coffee and tossed the container away, which evaporated on impact with the sand. "But I'll be sure to not engage him. I have no quarrel with people I don't know, unless they are hurting other people for no reason other than to be milignant."
He layed back on the beach and felt the warmth of the sun on his scales. Then he remember the flapping fish beside him. He slammed his fist into it to kill it finally and bite off it's head.
