Name: Freyn DeCaent
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Species / Race: Human
Occupation: Traveler
Weapon of Choice: Quarter Staff
Fighting style: prefers using blunt weapons (that way he cannot accidentally cut people) though was trained in sword
Appearance: Freyn is gangling. He is tall, approximately 6"2, but is a bit scrawny - 'Bean-pole' would be an accurate description. He has short, strawberry blond hair, which is always messy, and bright green eyes. He wears an emerald green doublet over a white shirt, dark brown trousers, and brown, high leather boots. He wears a belt, on which he has a sword with a decorative hilt, which is more for ceremony than actual use. Always with him is a wooden quarter staff that he also uses as a walking stick.
Strengths: charming, chivalrous, educated, optimist (also an excellent tenor)
Weaknesses: naive, gullible, no world experience, hemophobia (more other people's blood than his own), low alcohol tolerance
Likes: helping/being useful to people, music, reading, arranging hair
Dislikes: rowdy or overcrowded places, seeing people abused, blood, low ceilings/doorways
History: Freyn's father was a lord over a average piece of land. His father had had a son, Bryzan, and a daughter, Lorhli, from a first marriage, and a year after his first wife's death, married Freyn's mother. By the time he was born, Bryzan was thirteen, and Lorhli eleven. As both second son and product of a second marriage, Freyn had no hopes of ever inheriting, but his mother refused to accept the truth. She believed that if he asserted himself enough he could take the title of heir away from his half-brother. His mother left his care to servants in his early years of life, and ignored him until he was five. Lorhli raised him, took care of him, coddled him and played with him in his mother's absence. Bryzan was always indifferent to him, believing that as long as he never posed a threat he could be allowed to live. When he was old enough, his mother had him educated by the best scholars in the land, and taught sword fighting, hunting, horseback riding, and everything else she thought he needed in order to surpass his brother. However, he did not really enjoy it, he much preferred spending time with Lorhli and helping her as her page. In turn, she taught him the arts and the principles of chivalry. Thinking he was too soft, his mother made him go to a series of executions, when he was only eight, and this is when he developed his hemophobia. Freyn would have preferred to become a monk, but his mother prohibited it. She also prohibited his contact with almost every other person as they did not have a high enough status to associate with her son. She decided that when he was eighteen, he should travel to a different land in order to broaden his experience, and she arranged for his stay in a neighbouring land. Lorhli, knowing his true heart, but also knowing it would be better if he were not there to present a threat to their brother, pointed out that he could travel for much longer and to different places without disobeying his mother if he eventually, maybe after five years, went to the place his mother had chosen for him. Trusting his sister's advice, Freyn became a traveler, giving help to anyone who asked it of him, and has been very happy, though he has lost his money more than once to a swindler or pickpocket. His travels have finally taken him to Coast Lamiere.
Other:since he has no experience with the world, and believes the best in everyone, he believes basically anything he is told, and will help anyone he sees, even an evil person if he does not know they are evil.
